Why don’t you try it on another computer to be sure then. One other thing – I don’t think it’s a driver issue. As it is in cold start mode, it might take some time. Have you tried it on another USB port or better yet another machine? It doesn’t sound like this has anything to do with Streets and Trips.

What do you mean by intermittent USB connector on the u-blox? The issue is that it refuses to load the driver when its plugged in, therefore it gpa show in device manager.
I have to plug and unplug over and over to get it to finally load the driver, then it works fine.
If the software can recognize it, but no useful signal is being received, then as Terry says, take it outdoors to give it better signal. I am using the Windows 7 driver off u-Blox website as the driver. I’ve run out of ideas. If it says ‘Searching for Satellites, leave it with a good view of the sky for a while.

I’ve never heard of that Did I miss part of this thread? Windows will u-bkox load the driver. You didn’t say if this was a recent purchase or if the unit had been working before. I spent some time with Toshiba last night and the gal was unfamiliar gzlileo it. What laptop is it? Did you take it outside to make sure you had a signal. If the purchase was recent did you get it from a dealer with an exchange program or warranty?

The Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit drivers for the Navation ublox are available on Windows update. As Ken suggested in another thread, you can probably help it find you by using the ‘New Location’ button and narrow it down to your location on the map.

I think its with the u-blox also. When inserted a USB device has to power up from the bus, initialize and identify itself to Windows. One other thing – I don’t think it’s a driver issue. That is what u-blox 5 gps and galileo receiver computer says is on com port 3. I’m not even u-blox 5 gps and galileo receiver where the sensor would be on the laptop itself, but she did confirm that it is built into the computer.
The CD wouldn’t load at all. You know how they are, they don’t take back opened software. I’ve tried the driver on Windows Update also. Tom, could you provide a bit more info? Have you tried it on another USB port or better yet another machine? It appears u-Blox is retiring some u-Blox 5 devices.
